Affordable insurance -
After seeing so much hubbub in the news about health insurance reform
and the difficulties in getting any type of new policies in place, you
may think that affordable insurance is out of your reach. But that
isn’t really the case. Yes, it is easier to gain affordable insurance
if you are part of a group health insurance policy. But obtaining
affordable insurance is doable, you just might not have as good of
options as you would like. Affordable insurance - One basic thing to remember is
that the biggest secret to getting affordable insurance is to go with a
higher deductible. The higher the deductible, the more affordable
options you will have. You could even compare and contrast various
options to see how it will benefit you in the long run. For example,
although one policy might appear to be affordable insurance, you have to
consider whether or not that policy would really be affordable
insurance if you got sick. Affordable insurance for a healthy person is
one thing; affordable insurance for a sick person is quite another
thing. If you go with a high deductible policy, than you will
find that the insurance policy in the short term becomes quite the
affordable insurance policy. As long as you remain healthy, you can go
about your business, just have your well person checkups, and everything
will be just fine and dandy. However, if you do become sick, and you
have a high deductible policy, your formerly affordable insurance policy
quickly becomes not so affordable. You have to remember that every
time you go to the doctor once you become sick on a high deductible
policy, you will probably be paying out of pocket for those doctors’
visits. You still will get the benefit of getting the discount for thee
services that the insurance company gets, so the cost of going to the
doctor will still be lower for the appointment itself than if you had no
insurance at all. If you went with an initially more expensive seeming
policy that had a lower deductible but higher monthly premiums, you may
find that in the end it could be the more affordable insurance options.
In addition to covering more of your doctors’ visits, it could also
provide better coverage for your prescriptions medications. If you take
a lot of prescriptions, especially non-generic prescriptions, than a
lower deductible, better coverage health insurance policy could be the
more affordable insurance option in the long run. As you can see, the answer is not as cut and dry as to
what is the best, more affordable insurance option out there for you.
It depends a lot on your specific circumstances, as well as how your
circumstances might change over the near future. What seems like
affordable insurance today can turn into quite the not so affordable
insurance option tomorrow. Keeping this in mind, and knowing your
options at the outset, will help you make the best decision possible to
get the most affordable insurance possible for you. |
